As any detective can tell you, investigating missing property or deaths is comparatively easy compared to elusive missing people. However in New York City, there is a special unit of the FBI that is designed to find them. Garage owner Paul Dobson's high-pregnant wife Cathy goes missing from hospital before the gynecologist can bring the urgent eclampsia diagnosis, which also threatens the unborn son's life. Paul's staff and junior brother-partner Richie exclude marital troubles, let alone abuse, but the team soon finds evidence. The trail leads from a cloaked hospital video character and her other gynecologist to a shelter and a whole 'underground network', which is infiltrated foolishly at Vivian's peril.
