Without a Trace

As any detective can tell you, investigating missing property or deaths is comparatively easy compared to elusive missing people. However in New York City, there is a special unit of the FBI that is designed to find them. Using the vast resources of their bureau, the team, lead by Agent Jack Malone, race against time in the tight 72 hour window after a disappearance while hope for a recovery is still typically possible.

04E08 - A Day in the Life

Larry and Susan Hopkins call around many acquaintances and hospitals before reporting missing their teen son Shawn. The team is first told he was a model school boy (15), but soon finds despite good grades and athletic performances he had a frustrated love life, experimented with drinking, which mother kept from father, and a bookie. Yet those trails lead nowhere, unlike the uneasy tip from a girl who couldn't even tell her mother that she confided in Shawn having been molested by a scoundrel school mate, whom Shawn unwisely confronted. Martin proves himself a better diplomat then Jack handling the exasperated, bitterly bickering parents.
