The death of professor of poetry Mark Harris, who didn't get tenure, on his boat during a bass fishing tournament requires a murder investigation. The victim won improbably regularly such competitions, about to win big nationally. His competitors were convinced that he was cheating, nut unlike many of them also cheated. He was having an affair with female judge Linda Hendrickson, who was cheating for him, without his knowledge, but he didn't intend to compromise his marriage and disapproved of her fraud. During the investigation, Jane draws the flirtatious attention of angler Skeet Martin, who goes to great lengths to impress her but has to settle for watching the sunset in his boat together. Losing a bet to Korsak, Frankie must take care of a bag of flour and carry it as his baby for a day.
